The College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, invites applications for the position of Professor and Head, Department of Pathobiology. In addition to maintaining an active research program, the Head will provide visionary leadership, promoting excellence in research and education across a diverse basic science faculty with programs that span microbial pathogenesis, host-pathogen interactions, vaccine design and disease control, and ecology and epidemiology of infectious diseases. This is a full-time, tenure-track, 9-month position with responsibilities as a senior member of the college administrative team in a large and diverse campus environment that emphasizes academic excellence and fulfillment of the Land Grant missions. Salary is commensurate with experience. Candidates must have a currently active and robust research program, a sustained record of external funding reflective of a distinguished biomedical scientist, and a strong professional record compatible with an appointment of full professor with tenure. Requirements include a PhD, MD, or DVM degree or their equivalent, and demonstrated excellence in biomedical research and veterinary and/or human medical education.
