Job Description
Our objective is to identify virulence factors in FOV isolates to improve breeding efforts in cotton. You will support the cotton breeding and genetic efforts to develop cotton highly resistant to FOV race 4 (FOV4) through greenhouse artificial inoculation and infested FOV4 field evaluations. Expertise in fungal genetics, bioinformatics, Fusarium or other soilborne fungi, plant-host interactions is highly desirable.
Job Requirements
This position requires a Ph.D in plant pathology, genetics, biology, microbiology, molecular biology, agronomy, entomology, or a related field of study that included at least 9 semester hours in genetics and that has equipped the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Applicants must meet basic Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standard's requirements of the scientific discipline necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. You would visit laboratories of collaborators and field sites in other states
